How to lay paving slabs in your garden

Laying a patio in your garden can lead to some difficulties, but it can also be a rewarding task if you follow some simple and easy steps when applying your paving slabs , it is definitely achievable! Follow these simple steps below to create the perfect finish to your patio garden area. 

 

  • Preparation- A key tip when laying paving slabs is to make sure you have all the required tools and products you need to create a smooth finished look. Using a natural clean , sharp, gritty sand for the base. To achieve a high level finish on a paved area, laid moist in 30-50mm layer and screeded off to correct levels to even it out. Alternatives that can be used on the base is clean grit. 

 

  • Laying - To lay the paving slabs start with having a full flag at a fixed point. Lay the flags evenly with a spirit level and paviour maul to ensure accuaracy. It is important to keep checking the levels across several flags and make sure to allow for an even and gentle slope away from the house.
