What is a Compression Fitting?
A compression fitting is a traditional fitting that’s used on plastic or copper. The main sizes include; ½ /, ¾ and 1 inch in a household. A plumbing spanner or an adjustable spanner is required, to turn the nut so that the ring compresses onto the pipe. It works by putting the spanner on the nut, turning the nut, the ring squeezes down onto the copper or the plastic to make a connection. This is a permanent connection and should never be removed.
