Bahco started to manufacture tools some two centuries ago. Many of the tools that are produced today look very similar to their distant ancestors, yet most are very different. They are similar because the human hands have hardly changed at all, and the functionality of our hand stayed the same, but Bahco tools differ because the manufacturing process has changed so considerably. The design has changed too because it has been, and continues to be, highly concentrated on innovation, performance and ergonomics. Everybody understood that if steel was the ideal quality for fishhooks, it would be perfect for saws and other cutting tools as well. With the start of production of saw blades in 1886 there emerged a need for a graphic image that would communicate the blades special properties and quality. The choice was quite naturally “the fish hook”. In 2011 Bahco celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the “Fish and Hook” icon which signifies a guarantee for high quality, performance and productivity tools developed for professionals.
