How can you solve a height difference between floors?
A height difference between rooms can be solved in two main ways. The First is by using what’s known as a metal profile which can be glued or screwed down. It comes in different profiles or designs which can be for example a 14mm or 9mm ramp, which will take down the floor by 9mm or 14mm.
There are also square edge metal trims which hide the underside of the board, generally used when you are coming from a hardwood floor into a carpeted area or vinyl tile area. The second way is to use a solid hardwood profile which is the made from the same material as the floor such as oak walnut, maple etc. These come in a square edge, ramp edge or t-section. Your local Chadwicks store has a full range of profiles and cover strips for you to choose from.
